Safety and Security

The Cowpie Music Festival makes every effort to create a safe environment on the festival grounds, including: volunteers, event staff, private security, law enforcement officers, and also emergency medical staff. If you need any kind of assistance, seek out the medical tent (located at the top of the hill by the entrance), look for an officer, or any festival staff member. They will be happy to assist you in any way that they can.

INJURY

One of the major causes of injury while watching musicians play is doing stupid things while intoxicated. Typically, the best way to avoid injury at ANY concert is to not be intoxicated, AND to NOT do stupid things IF intoxicated. Feel free to utilize this policy at all concerts you may attend this year, including, but not exclusive to The Cowpie Music Festival . Doing stupid things may result in rejection from the festival, or the need for medical attention.

HEAT/SUN EXPOSURE

It can actually get pretty hot in Michigan, especially in August at The Shagbark Farm! Heatstroke  or sunstroke can seriously affect your positive party quotient at The Cowpie Music Festival, so drink plenty of water! There are pallets of water on hand, so drink a lot of it- ALL DAY LONG!

Wear a good hat, use a high SPF sunscreen, and use the available shade trees and tents to limit your solar exposure. We do not want our festival-goers to look like human jerky, so stay cool, hydrated, and happy.

SECURITY

The festival grounds and camping area is patrolled by event staff, as well as security and law enforcement, but The Cowpie Music Festival assumes no responsibility for the security of YOU, or your private property, please lock your camper or car, and secure you and your valuables. Also, be sure to bring plenty of common sense to the festival, as you should use it frequently.
